The Coming Elections
Though the date for the general election has not yet been definitely fixed, it is certain that it will take place before December 17tb, and probably between the 12th and 14th of that month. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Utober 23. ; Mr H. D. Bell, Mayor of Wellington, announces, in response to a requisition, that he will contest Wellington City. The Bootmakers' Society have selected Sir Robert Stout and Messrs Fraser and McLean. The Wellington Sociological Association j decided to submit the names of Sir Robert ( Stout and Messrs W. McLean and T. K. j Macdonald to the Liberal and Labor j Electoral Convention as its nominees for j the City. . Gisborse, This Day The Hon Mr Carroll addressed a large audience last night, and at the conclusion a vote of confidence in the Government was passed. Masterton, This Day. George Fairbrother addressed the electors at Carterton last night, defending the Government policy. A motion of confidence was corned.
