(PEB PBESB ASSOCIATION^) Capetown, October 22. Dr Jameson reports that 1000 scouts are beating the country within a radius of 10 miles of the united columns. Large numbers of cattle were secured after the recent engagements. A small party of Matabclcs entered Tati. but wore driyen back with tho loss of three of their chiefs.' Tho Matabeles are massing on Shangani Hiver, and tho British coluinus are pressing forward. The British forces have been successful in several sksrmishes during the lost day or two. Major Adams is expocted to reach Bulawayo to-day. Lobengulu has sent one of his chiefs to parley with the English. In the engagements near Indiatnos tbo British were armod with Maxim and Gutling guns. Tho natives were complotoly defeated in both actious. It is expected that Major Adams' force, in conjunction with Khatna's mon, will immediately attack Lobengula's stronghold at Bulawayo. There is roason to believe that Euro poans are directing tho operations of the Mataboles. Colour is given to this sus picion from the fact that the tactics of tho Mutaboles when they venture into open country oxcel those usually displayed by tho Zulus.
