[Per Press Association.] Ciibistcuurch, October 20. Mr David Dick, farmer, announces himself as a candidate for Ashley. He is said to be standing in the farmers' interest. A circular has been issued on behalf of Mr Joseph H. Evison, editor of Truth, inritine the electors of Christchurch to a meeting for Monday and stating that he has received very sub* stantial promises of support if he will contest a Christchurch seat. MAKTON.This Day. The Hon R. J. Seddon addressed a largo meeting here last night. His speech was almost a repetition of the one delivered at Feilding. Wellington, This Day. A requisition containing over 200 signa* tures has been signed in the Wai pa district asking the Hon J. Bryce to stand for that seat. Mr J. Duncan, whose name has been mentioned in connection with the Wairau ! electorate as a candidate against Messrs Buick and Sinclair, is at present in town and states that h« has serious thoughts of standing-
