Tipsters' selections for the Canlrield Cup :—" Ribbleden "—Newman or Ful ham, Division and Jeweller ; " Asmodeus" —Jeweller, Newman, Wildrose or Mos* cow; "Caspian"—Jeweller, Newoian, Fulham, or Division ; " Freelance " — Newman or Jeweller, Fortunatus and Moscow ;" Nunqnam Dormio "—Wildrose or Fulham, Broekleigh and Graduate. The best outsiders are undoubtedly Moss Rose and Graduate. Penance was backed for a few hundreds for the Melbourne Cup, at 100 to 4, after a satisfactory gallop yesterday. Later. Several hundreds to 18 having been taken about Jeweller, hi 6 price for the Cup has shortened to 100 to 20 Broekleigh is meeting with limited support at 100 to 13. The following wagers were booked today :—450 to 27 Oxide ; 1500 to 60 Moss Rose ; 500 to 36 Moscow. An offer to take 1000 to 70 about Moscow met no response, 1000 to 80 being the best odds available. One thousand to 15 was taken about Lord Grenville, while Fulham received fair attention at 100 to 1000 to 50. Sanfoin has advanced to 100 to 6, and Cressy and Wild Rose 100 to ;>. Division, Newman, and Oxide are now at 100 to 5.
