Mr Ward is practically assured of a walk over for Awarua. There is likely to be a plethora of candidates for Wallace and Invercargill. Bobert McNab, ono of the candidates for Mataura, addressed a meeting of electors at Gore last night, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. Chbistchubch, Tbis Day. The Bey O'Brien 11 oare is announced as a candidate for tho City seat in tbe Liberal interest. Pahiatua, Tliis Day. The Pahiatua Knights of Labor have decided to support Mr Hogg's candidature for Masterton. Wellington, October 12. The Hon. Mr Seddon has after due consideration decided to stand for his present constituency (Westland) at the general election. A deputation waited on Mr Duthie asking him to contest the City. He promises to reply in a day or two. Mr A. W. Hislop 's name is mentioned as likely to contest Wellington, and a requisition to him is being signed.
