TPer Press Association.] London, October 7. Tbe bullion reserve in the Bank of England is sixteen million six hundred and sixty-four thousand. The percentage of reserve to liabilities 45.42. New Zealand 4 per cent stock, 104 \ ; 24 per cent, 95 J. Wheat, long-berried, 29? 6d ; quiet. The wool market is fairly brisk. Prices remain unchanged, and many bales have been withdrawn. The wool sales are now closed. One hundred and eighty five thousand bales were sold and 35,000 held over. The prices, as compared with the July sales, were: — Merino — Greasy, good average quality, from par to !d per lb dearer ; superior, ',d, and inferior \d lower. Crossbreds — Good greasy, id, and scoured from par to £d dearer. In addition to the dividend of JJ per cent, and providing for two jours' depreciation, the New Zealand Shipping Company carry forward to next year's account the sum of £3000.
