Pohangina Notes.
[feom oub own cobbespondent.] Mr Baker, Commissioner of Crown Lands, presided at the ballotting for sections in the Umutoi Farm Homestead Association, held in the Theatre Royal, Ashurst, on Wednesday. October 3. The Umutoi is a portion of the Pohangina Block, on the north side of the Oroua river (hence a separate name). Eleven sections of 200 acres each were ballotted for. All the sections are in Block IV, Umutoi Purvey District, and were numbered iv Roman figures for the purpose of drawing only, the first name taken from the jar to hnvc section No. 1, and so on. The following is the order: — F. W. Miers (Feildinc), W. H. Partridge (Taita, Lower Hutt). F. Duckworth (Cheltenham), C. Woolford (Makino, Feilding), John Pattison (Cheltenham), G. H. Robinson (Pohangina), James Harvey (Ashurst), Robert Brown (Midland road, Colyton), C. T. Hayward (Woodyillc), S. J. Hayward (Woodville), S. Hay ward (Woodville).
