Christchurch Corn Exchange report for week ending the 22nd September, 1893, (per George S. Hickinan, secretary) :— Alter the late heavy rains farmers will appreciate, and no doubt take advantage of, the present beautiful weather. Oats remain about the same as last week, little or no movement being noticeable and prices unchanged. Barley seems to be out of the market ; no transactions except a few Gmall lines for feed purposes. Peas and beans— None offering, therefore prices are merely nominal, ltyegrass and cocksfoot — Season nearly if not quite at an end. Potatoes — Very few offering and prices remain about the same as quoted last week ; buyers are not anxious to operate in the face of last reports from Sydney. Quotations for the week are : — Wheat — Tuscan and pearl, 2s lid; Hunter's 2s 8d ; chick, Is 6d to 2s 3d Oats— Milling, 2s 3d ; bright feed, la lid ; ordinary feed, Is 8d Barley — Malting, uominai ; feed, Is lOd to 2s. Blue peas, 8s 3d ; partridges, 2s lid ; duus, 3s. Beans, 3s to 3s 6d. Ryegrass, machinedressed, 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; farmers', 2s to 2s 9d ; cocksfoot, 4d per lb. Tares, 6s to 8s per bushel. Clover seed (scarce), 75s to 80s for best. Potatoes (Derwents) 70s to 755, country Btationß.
