Upper Taonui School Examination

The above school was examined by Mr Bindon on Thursday last 21st September. The following are the results :— Standard V. — Presented, 3 ; passed o. Standard IV.— Presented, 0. Standard lll.— Pre. sented, 4 ; passed 3, absent 1 (exception). Standard II. — Presented, 6 ; excepted 1, passed 5. Standard I. — Presented, 6; passed 6. Percentage of passes on roll number 37. Percentage of failures nil. The following are the names of those who have passed— Standard V. — Henry Bailey, Walter Bailey, Alfred Bailey. Standard lll.— Florence Wratt, May Bailey, Annie Goldfinch. Standard ll— Robert Etherington, Douglas Bailey, Charles Mexted, Albert Kerrison, Arthur Morrell. Standard I.— Alfred Goldfinch, Charles Hasse, David George, Arthur George, Ada Wratt, Polly Drury. Mr Bindon in his report says — " The school on the whole has passed a very creditable examination. The order, the discipline, and the general bearing of the pupils, are very fine. The manners of the pupils are exceedingly nice. Something should be done to improve the attendance.".
