September %b. William Scott Greene, Licensed Interpreter, is missing ami supposed to have been drowned in the Waipu river, Tuparoa. A search party discovered bis horee, saddle, aud bridle, on the bank.
The river was in flood when Greene attempted to cross it, and he could not swim. Dunkdin, September 25. At the inquest on Kate Birley, the jury returned a verdict that she committed suicide, but there was no evidence to show her state of mind.
