MURDER OF A BANK MANAGER AND A LADY.

[Per Press Association] Sydney, Sept. 24. A burglar entered the city bank at Canocan this morning and surprised the manager, Mr Phillips, whom he attacked with a tomahawk. Mrs Phillips and Miss Cayanagh rushed to the rescue. A bloody struggle ensued. The robber laid out right and left, instantly killing Mr Phillips and Miss Cavanagh, Mrs Phillips and child were seriously wounded. The robber then escaped. Search parties are scouring the district without tmccess though the murderer is believed to be known.
