The Meat Export Company
« (PP.B PKESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, September 19. ' At a meeting of the Wellington Meat Export Company to-day, it was nioTcd i that the following gentlemen he elected directors : — Messrs W. 0 Buuliannn, 1 M.M.R.. C. B. Izurd, C. riiarazyn. W. G. Foster, nnd J. W. Alnrshall. The Hon G. McLean thought the directors would either have to buy sheep or shut up. Mr C. Phamzyn said that, speaking for himself and nlso for the chairman, they had really lost by purchasing stock and selling to the Company. He had j sold his freezers for the iirxt Jive years, and therefore he had no interest in buy : ing or selling sheep. He, personally, would like to be relieved of the labour of being a director of the Company, but thought as the directors (not by their \ own fault) had got the Company into , difficulties, they should endeavour to get , it out of them. Mr W. G. Foster a3 sured the Company that the Loan and 1 Mercantile Company had never made a half-penny by any purchase of stock he had made on behalf of the Meat Conipnny. After further discussion the motion for the election of directors was agreed to, and tho meeting adjourned.
