Pohangina Notes
[iBOM OUB OWN COBBESrONDENT.] The Pohanganese are to the front a c;ain. A great variety entertainment is to be held in Mr Hopkins' woolshed in aid of the church fund on Wednesday, the 27th, which I hare no doubt will be as great a success us the two previous ones. The room will be nicely got up for the occasion, and a commodious stage has already been erected, on which the best available histrionic talent in the district will appear. The show will be terminated with a dance. The river has been in high flood lately, while the roads hare been blocked with landslips, especially the Zig Zag aitd Valley Roads, but a staff of good men has been employed, and the debris is rapidly being removed . In spite of the bad weather all kinds of stock arc doing well, and there will be a heavy percentage of lambs this season. There is a fine show of grass to feed and fatten them. Mr Adsett's sawmill will bo in full working order in a few days. The engines arc on the ground. The settlers are now getting ready for the creamery by purchasing good cows, and getting their places in first-class order. Our school was opened yesterday (Monday), as the measles epidemic may be said to have abated. Nearly every house has been visited, but only one fatal case has resulted.
