[Per Press A ssocmt ion! London, September 14. The weekly returns of the Bank oi England published todny show the total reserve to be L 17 ,584,000. Tho propor^ of reserve to liabilities is ;">2 ;j6. Consols, 98|d. Three months' bills are discounted at 2\ per cent, with the market flat. New Zealand 4 per cent discounted stock, 105{, ; H\ per cent do, 95. New Zealand lon^ berried wheat, ex warehouse, is tinner at 28s ; South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, is firmer at 29s Od ; Victorian do, 29s Gd. Frozen mutton, first quality, o^d ; second quality, yjjd. Lamb, first qualit}', 8 ftf. At auctions 74 bales of New Zealand hemp ivere sold. Good to fair quality from Wellington sold at Ll9 17s Od per ton. At the Bradford wool sales there is an increasing business, in view of the London sales.
