ATTEMPTED MURDEK AND SUICIDE. SUNDAY CLOSING BILL. (FEU PRESB ASSOCIATION.} Sydnky, September 13. A man named Goodson, living at Granville, seized a revolver and shot his two i children, afterwards committing suicide. ■ The children will probably recover. The associated colliery proprietors have ( decided to terminate the existing agreei ment with colliers at the end of the year. A meeting of ship-owners refused to accept the Engineers proposal, but dei mand that the reduction be equivalent to 20 per cent. The Treasurer announced that owing to the rejection of the reduction in the Municipal vote the Government had decided to impose an additional Customs Duty. The article selected was sugar, and the duty on that commodity would be doubled from to-day. Adelaide, September 14. A stringent Sunday Closing Bill has been introduced by a private member. A publican on tho third offence is to lose his license, and any customer is to be liablo to from 1 to b months imprisonment.
