Legislative Council.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, September 12. The Council met at 23o. The Liquor Bill was further considered in committee. Clause 23, which provided that the local bodies could supplemant the loss of revenue from license fees by an increase of general rates, was struck out by 21 to 13. Clause 26, which provides that clubs were to be subject to the Licensing Act, was truck out by 17 to 10. Progress was then reported. The Post Office Acts Amendment Bill, Ell Empowering Bill, and Public Health Act Amendment Bill, were put through their final stages. The Council rose at f> p.m.
