INSPECTION OF LUNATIC ASYLUMS.
Somk of the good people of Dunedin want the Government to do away with the prosent system of control of the Lunatic Asylums, and have Boards of management appointed instead. We would go further, and have these Boards appointed from the inhabitants of the Asylums (in Dunedin) because they really ought to know what is good for them quite as well ns the persons who passed such a resolution. Tho very ruisou d'etre of Inspectors is that Boards of Management of Asylums have invariably proved utter failures and led to hideous abuses.
