THE Public Trust Office off New Zealand i* a Government institution to all old, at low rates Of I commission, a secure and convcnicut recourse for those who, desirous of forming trusts in the colony, cannot natisfuctorily appoint private trustees or executors, u,nd for persons unable or unwilling to undertake or continue the administration of the trusts accepted by or imposed upon them. The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Public Trust Oflico Act, 1672," lias been since much enlarged in its functions by amending Acts, to meet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 18'jl facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from investments at the discretion of the Public Trustee, aud insures the regular payment of the interest. Tho Security and Fidelity of the Public Trustee's administration must bo considered ol the utmost importance to every person contemplating the. appointment of a trustee. The colony yuaraiitees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees also the Integrity of the Capital Funds invested n.t tho option of tho Public Trustee. The Colony Guarantees also, on tho capital funds arising for investment out of tho properties placed in tho Public Trust OiUee.. a commou rate of interest, to be paid quarterly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. The value of this guarantee is iv the Guarantee of the Colony against loss from investments iv bad or Insufficient securities, aud against loss from delay in investment, and for the regular and punctual payment of the interest, free of all chanjes of the Public Trust Office. In the appointment of Trustees them must always lie serious concern as to the security of the Capital funds; and the larger the capital funds tho greater must bo the concern for security, aud the less for a high rato of interest. The Public Trustee cannot dio, cannot leave the colony, cannot become disqualified, or involved iv privato difficulties; aud cannot be distrusted. In private trusteeships, death and absence render necessary numerous and exponsive deeds not required by Public Trustee's administration, which has, besides, tho office solicitor's advice without expense to tho estates. By all who know or have experienced tho contingencies of private trusteeships these advantages must be appreciated.
