MERRY BACHELOR is a dark bay, standing 16 hands 2 inches high, and is 8 years old this foaling; he has immense bone and muscle, splendid temper, and a really good constitution ; he has a sound flat bone, well wearing legs and fine action. Pedigree — He has taken first prize in Palmerston as improving weight carrying hacks. Merry Bachelor is by Dofamer, by Traducer (imp), dam Nora, by Peter Flat (imp), New Zealand Stud Book ; j Defamer is by Traducer, dam Emmeline ; Traducer by Libel, dam Arethusa, by Ellis out of Languid ; Emmeline by Slight of Hand, Junior out of Emma, by Gil Bias, out of Emily ; by Operator out ; of Flora Mclvor; by Emigrant out of Cornelia ; by Grasshopper (yide English Stud Book). As a four or five years old he travelled the Peninsula, and has got really good* looking youngsters, his pedigree being, undeniable. Fifty»three young horses by Merry Bachelor were recently shipped to Calcutta for the Indian market.
