Halcombe Cricket Club

The annual genoral mooting of the Halcombo Cricket Club was held in the llalcombe Hotel on Saturday, September 2nd. Despite *ho inclement weather there was a very fair attoudauce. Mr A. 11. Toinpkina was voted to the chair. The minutes of the previous annual i general meeting wore read and confirmed, : and the balance sheet showiug a credit of £1 16s 7d, was adopted. The secretary reported a most success • ful soason, tho club having won all its matches. The highest batting averages to qualify for tho trophy (a bat) wore.— Tompkins, Id; Hartgill, 9'B ; Bradbury, 7 ; and for the bowling (a ball) — Hunter, 3*7 ; Lance, 14 ; Manning.. 4S. The election of officers resulted as follows :— President, Mr D. G. Kiddiford ; vice-presidents, Messrs Lance and Lane; captain, Mr Tonipkins ; secretary, Mr Bradbury ; match and general committee, Messrs Lance, Tonipkins, Bradbury, and Strachan. Tho annual subscription was fixed at o*. The question of forming a Bangitikei Union was discussed. Mr Tompkins reported having written to nine clubs, from four of which he had received a favour* able reply. It was decided to call a meeting of the delegates of theso clubs, to bo hold at Keilding on Saturday, 9th September. Messrs Lonco and Tompkins were ap« pointed delegates to attend the meeting. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the meeting.
