[ At the monthly meeting of tho Wanganui Harbor Board, held yesterday, a letter 1 was read from MrG. It. Lucas forwarding a statement of the dimensions for the ' drain required in the Pohangina township. < The estimate was forwarded in response to a 1 request from the Board, an application 3 having been received by them for X'so for tho formation of this drain. — As the ; Commissioner of Crown Lands had reI commended the expenditure, the Board, • on the motion of Mr Jackson, seconded . by Mr Campbell, agreed to pay pound for ) pound for all drainugo work, not to in. elude bridges, taken by contract and j not to exceed £50. — Several members of j tho Board expressed tho opinion that this , was about the last grant that would bo k made in this township.
