Campbelltown Items.
[rROJI OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] The last few fine days have been hailed with great joy by the farmers, who are making great progress with the putting in of seed for crops. Mr Oorpe's butter factory will be put in motion next week, and at present thero is, of course, a great demand for milk cans and cowboys. The members of the Excelsior Lodge, No. 15, 1.0. G.T., held their weekly meeting on Thursday evening last, and 35 members wero present. One candidate was initiated. The members had an enjoyable meeting and the fragments from the tea last Thursday were finished up. I am glad to report that the lad John Drummond is progessing favorably after his accident. Dr Johnston, upou examination, found that no bones were broken, but the lad's leg was seriously bruised. On Monday last Mr J. C. Thompson, while at the Primitive Methodist tea-fight, had the misfortune to have his harness cut by some larrikins, and was put to some inconvenience to obtain substitute harness to get home in his trap. Campbelltown is improving fast. Mr J. Whittington is about to open a new brick yard to meet the increasing wants of the community in that respect. His skill and experience as a tradesmen are well known, and customers may rely upon having only the best bricks.
