The French-Siam Difficulty

JOHN CHINAMAN INDIGNANT. (PEU PBESB ASSOCIATION.} Pakis, Aug. 31. News from Bankok is of a calmer character. China, however, is indignant at the French demands upon Siam, and the Chinese Minister at Paris is protesting. Sir G. Grey, in reply to questions, said the Government doubted whether France really was making the various demands upon Siam ascribed to her. Lord Dufferm returns to Paris immediately, and will resume negotiations with a view to the safe-guard of British interests in Siam.
