(PEB TBESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, August 30. There is great excitement at Pukekohc owing to the continuation of the case against Dr Dalziel. Mrs Dalziel is chareed with cruelly illtrcaiing the cirl Anna D.ilziel, u^ed 24, by striking her with a tuvvse. The eridenco jjiren by Anna Dalziel stated that she was sup> post-d in ordinary work to clean the entire horse, cleaning tho horse included taking dirt from the animal's legs, currj'combing it. besides washing its legs. On this occasion her father spoke to her about not cleaning the horse. Witness told her the desired to be punished for hating left work undone, and nskvd her father to punish hor with a tawse. Surprise was expressed in Court at this statement, which is most remarkable in view of the story of the girl as supplied by the Constable, to whom slio made the complaints. Wit* ness further stated she had had a few other strokes with tho tawse previously nt her own request. The girl Rare eyi» dence under compulsion.
