The Feilding Star. Published Daily. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 1893. A COTTAGE HOSPITAL.
It has frequently boon urged by us that a Cottage Hospital should be established in Feilding. No doubt the greater interest was centred in the establishment of the District Hospital I in Palmerstou North, and the lesser, I the requirements of Feilding, were I put aside for a more convenient season. Now that such a reason for neglecting our own interests no louger exists, we hope that the matter will be taken up at once, and pushed on to a successful termination. We venture to express the opinion if the medical men in practice in the town and district were to initiate a movement, the ladies would at once take it up, and wo all know what a stupendous influence they can exercise io the cause of benevolence and chanty. Within the last few weeks there have been recorded in Feilding cases of sickness in families where, if a Cottage Hospital had beon in existence, and isolation thus made possible, valuable lives might have been saved, and much sorrow and affliction avnrted. We feel very strongly on this subject, and would urge that the persons who, in our opinion and that of many others, are the medical men, should do something without another moment's delay. __________________
