An interesting experiment is being conducted at Albany with a new moat preserving process. The details are not uisclosed, but it is stated a carcase operated upon six weeks ago was found to be in perfect preservation, and wholesome when cooked. It is believed the process can be successfully applied to the exportation of meat. French gapers from Noumea state it is only a question of a few months, or perhaps earlier, when France will declare a protectorate over the New Hebrides. A curious discovery was made at a recent execution of a criminal. Tho guillotine, in uso at Noumea, was found to bo one with which Louis XVI, and many of the Girondists party were executed in Paris iv 1793.
