Holloway Dramatic Company
We would remind our readers that the above company give their first programme in Feilding this evening, they have just concluded a most successful season of two nights in Palmerston North, where the attendance was both large and enthusiastic, as will be shown by the following eulogistic remarks anent the merits of the company which we clip from last evening's Manawatu Times : — No better proof of the high reputation of the Holloway Dramatic Company, established on their former visit to Palmerston, could be afforded than the very large audience which assembled at the Theatre Royal last evening to witness the first performance of the second season. It must have been an agreeable surprise to the management to find so many people willing to brave the elements, for the weather was most inclement. After witnessing the piece produced, we can only say that the Company more than exceeded the highest expectations, fairly excelling themselves, and also proved that they are without doubt unusually clever exponents of the legitimate drama. Without exaggeration it can be said that the Holloway combination is worthy of the very best support that can be accorded by the public. The presentation of their plays is very carefully attended to, being complete even to the smallest details, and the theatre-going public cannot help speaking in glowing terms of admiration of the meritorious performances by this clever combination they have had the opportunities of late of witnessing. The piece to be presented this evening is Frank Harvey's serio-comic drama, " The Workman," and is said to be one of the Holloway Company's very best efforts, and will be produced with all the original scenery, dresses, and the same cast of characters as in the larger cities of New Zeahind.
