The Escaped Prisoner gets Nine Months
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wanoanfi, This Day. George Harper, a prisoner who escaped from the local hard labor gan<* souie time ngo, and who was captured in Palmersfon on Friday, was brought up al tho X..M. Court this morning before Judge Kettle, and sentenced to nine months' imprisonment in the Wanganui caol, the sentenco to run concurrently. The prisoner made a statement to the effect that hit escape was tho result of bad treatment in the gaol, but the Bench held this was uot borne out by the tacts.
