Wedding Bells
This morning, at the residence of Mr George Adams, of Makino, Mr J. E. Taylor, of Te Horo, son of Captain Taylor, of Tawa Flat, was united in the bonds of matrimony to Miss Ada Margaret Adams, fourth daughter of Mr Geo. Adams, of Makino. The bridesmaids were Miss Annie Adams, sister of the bride, and Miss Flora Taylor, niece of the bridegroom. Mr John Taylor acted as best man. The bride wore a travelling dress of ruby cashmere trimmed with grey and silk beaver, and the bridesmaids were dressed in ruby and cream cashmere. The Rev. G. Clement performed the ceremony, after which a number of friends and relations partook of a sumptuous breakfast, the cake being supplied by Mr John Gould, of Feilding. The presents were numerous and valuable. The happy couple left by this afternoon's express for their home at Te Horo. A fashionable wedding took place in All Saints Church, Palmerston North, yesterday afternoon, Miss Nora Linton, daughter of Mr James Linton, one of Palmerston's pioneers, being united to Mr V. A. Brooke, fourth son of the late Sir Edward Brooke, of Norton Priory, Cheshire. The bnde was dressed in white merveilleux, trimmed with myrtle and orange blossom, edged with valenciennes lace, with empire sash and silk veil to match, and carried a bouquet composed of hyacinths, lilies of the valley, snowdrops and maiden hair fern. The bride's train was borne by Master W. Linton, who wore a suit of black velvet trimmed with white satin. The bridesmaids were Misses Linton, F. Mowlem, A. Mowlem, and I. Smith. After the ceremony, the wedding party adjourned to the Theatre Royal, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion, where a reception was held and a sumptuous repast provided. The presents were very numerous and valuable. The happy couple subsequently left for Wellington, en route to Christchurch, where they intend to reside.
