(pki{ 3pbess association.) Wellington, August 10. The Council met at 2.30. The Waste Lands Committee reported, with reference to the Hon. Mr Bo wen's motion, that in their opinion the Forest reserves in the Otago and Wellington provinces, which were sought to be alienated by Government, should not be withdrawn.—After discussion, the debate was adjourned in order to afford the Minister of Lands an opportunity to give evidence before the Waste Lands Committee. The Sale of Poisons Bill, Arsenic and Cyanide of Potassium Bill, and Timber Floating Bill passed their final stages. The Council then adjourned.
