♦ On Saturday afternoon Messrs Abraham and Williams will auction a choice assortment of Australian furs from the well-known establishment ol S. R. Clark & Co., of Brunswick, Victoria, whose name alone is sufficient guarantee of the quality of the goods, The assortment is a very large one. The pick of the lot are undoubtedly the Tasmanian opossum rugs, beautifully marked and mounted, and well worthy of a place in any establishment, The rugs comprise grey opossum, Aus traldin native bear, kangaroo, Gipps land wallaby, Tasmanian wallaby, all in their natural colors, as well as several beautifully dyed rugs. A couple of wild catskin rugs, partic ularly well mounted, attract con siderable attention, while the various kinds of hearthrugs and mats exhibit the skill of the furrier in a very favourable light. Besides the articles enumerated there are ladies' handbags mounted in the fur of that wonderfully curious animal the platypus, boas, footwarmers, capes, etc. We should strongly advise those of our readers who have a little leisure on Saturday afternoon to have a look round at those articles in Mrs Hastie's sample rooms, even if they are not axious to buy, as tho tine collection of furs is well worthy of inspection and admiration.
