During tho debate on the Budget a motion to report progress which was regarded as tantamount to a disapproval of further taxation, was carried by 44 to 37. The Premier intimated he would require a straight out vote on the income tax at the next sitting. The complete returns of cereal crops for the year show the yield of wheat to be 14,814,000 bushels ; that of oats, 4,574,000 bushels ; barley, 774,000 bushels ; potatoes, 142,000 tons ; hay, 740,000 tons. The yield of wheat averaged 11-04 bushels per acre, and oats 25 75 bushels per acre. Sydney, August 8.
