The Hew Plymouth Highwayman
30 DAYS IN IRONS FOR ATTEMPTING TO ESCAPE. (PEB PBESB ASSOCIATION). New Plymouth, This Day. Harold Thompson was last night presented with the gold watch and chain and purse of sovereigns, subscribed by the public, for capturing the Highwayman. Holmes, who assisted, was presented with a diamond ring. The Mayor made the presentation. Wallath was brought before the R.M. this morning, charged with trying to escape from gaol, and was sentenced to be kept in irons for thirty days.
