Legislative Council.
(PEB PBKBS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, August 2. The Otago Harbor Board Empowering and Wanganui Harbor Endowment Bills were read a second time. The Payment of Members Bill was amended by message from the Governor in the direction of imposing fines on members of both branches of the Legislature— Councillors to be fined 255, and members of the House 40s per day — for each day they are absent from the chambers. The Council then adjourned.
