The following team will represent the Bed Stars in their match against the Marton Swifts on Friday next : — Mingins, James, Robertson, Foster (2), Parr, F. Saywell, Parkes, Evans, Smith (2), Eobinson, Beechey, Lowe, Hurdle, dwance, Turner, and Rosaman. The team will leave for Marton by the mid-day train. The New Zealand football team meet 18 of Wellington at Petone on Saturday. The Marton Football Club send a team to Palmerston on Friday next, where a teat match is to be played with the object of choosing a rep. team to play Wanganui. Whilst playing football at Pahiatua on Saturday week, a young man I named Henierson was kicked behind the left ear in a scrum. Nothing was thought of the accident at the time, but on Sunday evening Henderson became unconscious, and now lies in a dangerous condition. A meeting was held in Wellington last night to make arrangements for the reception of the New Zealand representative team, who are expected back to-morrow. The Governor is to be asked to formally welcome the team on Friday morning, and also to preside at the social to be given on Saturday night. The Mayor and members of both Houses attended the meeting.
