The following players have been selected to represent Wanganui in their match against Manawatu : — Backs — Burr, Purnell, Mason, E. Peake, Seagar, Sonthcotube ; emergencies, Fergnsson and Hunter. Forwards— Sims, Pownall, Elliot, Ridier, It. McLean, Harrison, Riddell, J. Blair, and Eunnerson ; emergencies, Lockett and Robertson. There will be a meeting of members of the Union Footbal Club on "Wednesday next, at Mr Ross' at 7 p.m. The football match Awahuri v. Bulls, played at Bulls on Saturday last, ended in a wiu for the visitors' team by a try to ml. (PKB TBKBS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, July 31. A public meeting was held tonight to consider what steps should be taken to welcome the New Zealand football team on their return from Australia.
