The Auckland Election
— i — ♦ [Per Press Association.] Auckland. July 20 Mr W. L. Bees addressed the city electors at Ponsonby, on the valuation of the Umutaoroa Block and other matters. A new feature was the production of a letter written by the late Premier, Mr Ballancc. Mr Cadman had stated that he (Mr Bees) was led to make his charges became Mr Ballance had sent Mr Smith to Napier to oppose bis Native land proposals. It had also been said that Mr Ballance was adverse to his action in tbif matter. Mr Ballance, it was true, wai dead, but he (Mr Bees) was quite prepared to prove absolutely the falsity of these statement*. Mr K«es received a vote of thaukn.
