The Exchange is depressed by the many failures that have occurred recently, but colonial stocks are not affected. New York, July 26. The Herald says trade is being paralysed, aa the banks are refusing the best paper. The New Zealand Land Association has received the following cable message, dated London. July 25 :— Wheat and flour — The market is steadier. New Zealand wheat, f.a.q., it worth c.i.f. to arrive, 28s per 4801bs for the new crop ; other quotations are unchanged since last telegram.
