(PER PBEBB ASSOCIATION). Wellington, July 20. A young man named Geo. Reid was today fined £5 for introducing two cigarettes and matches into H.M. Gaol between pieces of toast supplied to his brother, who is in custody awaiting trial. Hawkra, July 27. Mr Bruce, M.H.R., will be banqueted at Hawera on the sth August. Thames, July 27. Mr Jas. McGowan was to-day elected for the Thames seat without opposition.
