Messrs Gorton and Son's stock report— Full entries of sheep came forward at our stock sale at Marton on Tuesday. Bidding at the sale was dull and we only sold a small number under (he hammer, but a good deal of business was transacted after the sale. Our quotations are an follows : — Cattle— Weaner yearlings, L 2. Sheep — Wethers, 12s ; ewes, 2- tooth to fm. lls 6d ; olders, 7s to 8s 9d ; empty ewes, 6s ; hoggets mixed, 9s 3d. .Messrs F. R. Jackson and Co. report: — Sheep at Waverley were dull of sale, and old ewes could not be sold. At the St. Hill street yards, cattle maintained their valnes. Wethers and hoggets Bold at fair values ; 500 hoggets, healthy and in prime condition, made 12s Id. Pigs were well competed for, and met a good market. We quote : — Cattle— At Waverley : Steers, £3 IBs 6d ; cows, £3 17s to £4 10s ; heifers at calving, £5 14s. At Wanganui : Heifers in calf, £4 10s to £4 lla; yearlings, £2 Gs ; weaners, 80s to 85s ; milch cowb, £4 to £7 15s. Sheep —At Waverley : Hoggats, 8s 9d. At Wanganui : Fat wethers, 18s 8d to 14s Id ; storei, 12s to 12s 6d ; fat ewes, lls ; hoggets, 12s Id ; old ewes, 4s 4d. Pigs — Baconers, 86s 6d to 41s ; large porkers, 16s to 245 ; others, 9s Id to 12s 6d. Poultry— Fowls, 2s 6d to 8s 6d; ducks, 8s and 4d ; turkeys, 7s to 10s the couple.
