(PER PBEB3 ASSOCIATION). Wellington, This Day. The Steamer Waitapu, which went ashore near Pa tea, was launched over the breakwater into the Fatea river this morning. She will reach here on Friday to undergo repairs. She has sustained Boine, thoughjnot serious, injury. Auckland. July 26. The nomination paper for the election of Mr W. L. Bees was lodged with the returning officer this morning, accompanied with the necessary deposit LlO. His proposers were Mr Thomas Gee (coßchbuiider), and Mr W. H. Worth (chairman of the Trades and Labour Council). Hokitikei, July 25 A terrific gale from the north-west has been blowing all day, accompanied by heavy rain. Old houses, trees, fences, etc. have suffered considerably. The river is rising and a heavy flood is anticipated, as rain is warm enough to melt the bdow.
