NEW ZEALANDERS IN AUSTRALIA.
[PER PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Bbisbane, July 22. The return match between Queens- . land and the New Zealand Eugby team was played to-day. The weather/ was very warm, and about 7000 were' JL present. The New Zealand team 7 was : Full-back, Wilson ; threequarters, Gage, Wynyard, Jems; halves, Butland and Bayley; forwards, McKenzie, Mclntosh, Ellison, Lambie, Cockroft, Stuart, Speight, Hiroa, and Murray. The New Zealanders won the toss, and from the kick-off took the ball into the home 25, but it was worked back to the centre, where play was confined far. some time. Wynyard, intercepting a j pass, dashed, through the opposing backs and scored at try between the posts, from which Ellison kicked a goal. The visitors were playing a hard and fast game, and the home team was playing all they knew to get on terms. Jervis increased the score by potting a fine r goal. The visitors kept up the attack, And '. Wynyard afrain, scored. The Becqnd spell opened by iVynyard scoring his third try. Cockroft, TSdcKenzie, Jervis, Butland, also scored. The game ended — New Zealand, 85 points; Queensland, nil. Wynyard scored three tries, from which two goals were kicked, Butland scored two tries, . one of which were converted, jervis potted a goal and scored a try, and . both McKenzie and Cockroft scored a try each. ; .^s^Day, On Saturday the game Iras the beat . the New Zealanderjs have yet played. The passing of the whole team was very fine. Wynyard played a great | game, but all the other backs showed ' much dash, and were very safe. Butland and Bayley did some passing of the highest order.
