Messrs Abraham and Williams report : At our horse sale on Saturday less than usual numbers came forward. A large proportion were indifferent sorts, for which bidding was lifeless ; but as usual, useful animals met with good competition. A strong inquiry existed for heavy draughts, subject to trial. Spring-carters made £12 10s ; heavy draught, £25 ; fair 10 medium hacks, .£7 10s to £12 10 ; screws and weeds unsaleable. Awahnri quotations :—2yr steers, £4 5s ; \veanerß, 14s ; yearlings, mixed, 39s ; 18 mixed steers, £2 15; 2 to 8-tooth Lincoln ewes in lamb, 13s 6d ; empty ewes, 7s Cd ; hoggets, 6s 9d. A good line of fat wethers were passed in at 4s. Several lots were turned out unsold.
