Earl Jersey has been offered the chairmanship of the Agricultural Conference. The Miners' Federation, by 4 to 1, refused to accept a proposed reduction in wages, and decline to submit the matter to arbitration. It was resolved that a reply be sent, declining to -accept- the terms of colliery owners. The Siock Exchanges of New York and London are very much excited. Silver is quoted ot 2s 9d per ounce.
