NEW ZEALANDERS IN AUSTRALIA.
(PEE PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Brisbane, July 19. The Zealanders played 18 juniors to* day, and a fine game resulted. In the first spell Harper potted a goal from a free kick, and in the second spell Wilson placed a goal from a free kick. These were the only scores, New Zealand winning by i points to nil. Towards the end of tho game, Harper, of Nelson, had a shoulder dislocated through being thrown, and he then retired. The Queenslanders generously allowed Bajlej j to place his place. This Day. In tho match yesterday D'Arcy, Hiroa, and Ellison played the best game in the : forward division. Gage was strong on the j defensive but went very lame in the , second spell. Harper and Wynyand were i serviceable three-quarters and were seldom idle. Wellington, July 19. McKenzio (Auckland), Oliphant (Wellington), Gray and Watson (Wairarapa), 1 left in the Wakatipu this afternoon to strengthen the New Zealand team in the final matches in New South Wales. |
