Mr Asqnith, Hpme Secretary, has published a letter received from the Queen, thanking the people for the great loyalty aud devotion so strikingly evidenced in connection with the marriage of the Duke of York and the Princess May. The letter is couched in touching terms, and Her Majesty states her weal and woe have ever met with the warmest and kindest sympathy from the people, wbich •he feels very deeply. She knows that the vast empire is aware how truly her heart beats for them all in joy and sorrow and in the existence of this tie between them and herself lies the real strength of the British Empire. Her Majesty, in the concluding portion of ber letter, says she joins with the people in the warmest prayer for the welfare and happiness of her grandchildren.
