(PKE IMtKHS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, This Day. Mr Martin, li.M., gave judgment ia a case of considerable interest to bankers. The Tux Commissioner, Mr Cronibie, sought to mijrite the banks famish a return ot mot-tinges held by them, and nnswer questions as to the position of customers for the purpose of enabling him to check their returns. Legal advice was token, which led the banks to refuse and huve a test case. Mr Martin teld the Commissioner had no such power, and dismissed the cuso without costs. Mr Gully gave notice of appeal.
