Feilding Public Library
» A well-attended committee meeting of the above was held yesterday evening, when the following officers were elected : Chairman, Mr J. H. Stevens ; secretary, Miss Goodbehere; treasurer, Mr A. R. Allan. The new catalogue and index of books, prepared by Mr Stevens, were laid on the table, highly approved of by the committee, and a very hearty vote of thanks was awarded to that gentleman far his trouble in the matter. Several new books have been added, recent editions of new works have been most carefully selected, and the Fetlding Library now compares most favourably w ith any country library in New Zealand. A subcommittee, consisting of Messrs Stevens, Cobbe, and Hoiking, met Messrs Goodbehere, Carthew, and Ilaybittle (representing the Borough Council), at Mr (ioodbehere'6 ottlce this njorning, and arranged for the removal of the library to the Council Chambers, at Mr Oalway's old shop in Manchester street. The premises will be fitted tip with a fireplace, the room papered, and otherwise made com for table.
