Lowes & lorus report on their fortj nightly stock sale as follows : — Entries of { both sheep and cattle were considerably 1 in excess of entries advertised The biddj ing for sheep was hardly as brisk as of 3 late, the demand seemed to be more for f ewes in lamb, than for wethers and empty ewes, the latter classes were morefully represented. Amongst the cattle yarded, were 150 dairy cows and heifers. The demand 1 for heifers and young cows was fairly good 3 and considering the time of the year the 1 prices wero satisfactory. Good forward 9 wethers made I*2/, ordinary 2 tooth stores 9 8/6 to 10/, fat ewes 9/10 to 11/, empty j store ewes 8/, ewes in lamb " old " 5/ to j 7/, mixed sheep very poor 5/7. Medium beef co ws made from £b to Jt's/17/6, 2.J 1 year steers 80/ to 90/, 2 year steers 60/ to 75/, calves 25/ to 29/, dairy heiters and young cows to calve in August and Sep--1 tember, £4/5/ to £*7/0/0, old cows 45/ to * 70/. Same useful horses came forward but were unsaleable at reasonable prices.
