This Company, who have just con» eluded a very successful tour of the South I«li)nd, commence a short seoson in Feilding on Saturday next ai tho Aslemblf lJooms. As the young Indies hare only been a short win So iv the col» onics, the following will be of interest to our readers: The Misses Albu arc the youngest and the most accomplished soprano vocalists who have appeared on the concert platform, and they are ably assisted by a tenor singer, in ilie person of Mr John Fuller*' who has a European reputation as a vocalist ani composer The pianist, Mr Gunter, has exhibited wonderful executive powers. Miss Jul'e Alba was born in Cheilcohaai in 1870, and early evinced great love and talent for music. When the ltoyal College of Music was opened in May, 1833, under the Presidency ot the Prince of Wales, wilh Sir Ocorge Grove as director, the College authorities efferrd fifty scholar* •hips to be competed for, and 1645 can didatcs came forward. Nine of the scholarships were for singing, and the winner of the first was Miss Julio Albu. The stnff of the Colit-gc comprised Madame Jenny Ltnd, Madnme Arabella Goddard, Sir Julius Benedict, Dr Bridge. I>r Parry Garcia, E. Gomnerfz. etc Under teachers like these Miss Julie Albu pursued her studies for Uirceycnrs, the lerm of her scholarship, and she wus Jenny Lind's favorite pupil. After the death of that famous artiste, Miss Albu studied under Sir George Herschell. Miss Bo&e Albu commenced her studies under Mr W, H. Wench, a fellow.student with Charles Santley, in Italy. Mr Bosco Wilson nn Ted in Feilding from the south on Saturday to make the preliminary arrangements.
